Overview

HUNTER is searching for a self-motivated Senior Account Executive to support work for a major retail and technology brand. The role involves leading monitoring and reporting efforts amongst junior staff, including comprehensive coverage tracking across media verticals–online, broadcast, social, and emerging media like Substacks and podcasts–as well as developing detailed reports for large client campaigns. Additionally, this role will support in executing communications strategy, storytelling, and programming. This is a high-visibility, high-growth opportunity role that involves a mix of client relations, project management, monitoring and reporting, and media relations. The ideal candidate will have prior experience monitoring, tracking, and analyzing large volumes of media coverage; experience compiling information across multiple external partner teams and producing high-visibility campaign reports; interest in data analysis; and knowledge and experience with corporate communications and the retail space.

Responsibilities

  • Drive effective implementation of client PR programs
  • Lead comprehensive coverage monitoring and reporting efforts for client campaigns
  • Handle communications with internal teams, client teams, and other external partners
  • Oversee the tracking of media coverage and the calculation of metrics/results against campaign goals
  • Manage people and projects to deliver high-quality results on-time
  • Anticipate issues
  • Delegate and assign work among junior team members; Effectively review and edit deliverables from junior team members
  • Make recommendations for ways to meet client needs
  • Serve as a representative of the client and agency on-site at client events
  • Provide thorough analysis to clients of program/campaign results, backed by metrics
  • Develop creative ideas and tactical elements for client programs
  • Serve as a client contact and maintain relationships with key client personnel
  • Accommodate and anticipate client needs; make recommendations to clients
  • Respond to requests for information from clients in a timely manner
  • Participate in client calls, meetings, presentations to the client and client brainstorms; attend client events
  • Maintain relationships with key media contacts; leverage those relationships to obtain desired media coverage on behalf of clients
  • Participate in agency brainstorm sessions for client programs
  • Actively participate in agency committees or departments as designated/asked
  • Demonstrate an interest in the long-range health of the agency
  • Represent the agency in professional associations

Ability to:

  • Understand the clients’ business and relevant industry trends and use the information to develop strategic PR ideas
  • Manage multiple projects
  • Train and mentor junior and mid-level staff
  • Effectively delegate work among team members
  • Travel to client and event locations; meet with clients at their office locations/headquarters
  • Demonstrate strong reporting, writing, editing, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Monitor and track a large amount of traditional media, social media, and emerging media coverage stemming from client campaigns
  • Proactively communicate with clients and external teams
  • Maintain organization
  • Review and edit client deliverables with an extremely thorough and detail-oriented perspective
  • Show integrity and good judgment when working with colleagues and clients
  • Deal constructively with client and personnel situations

Qualifications

  • B.A. in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications or the like
  • Three (3) to four (4) years’ experience in a public relations agency or similar position
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides)

Compensation

In order to comply with equal pay and salary transparency laws in various locations, the Company believes the target range of base compensation for this role is $70K- $85K. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and location.
