Overview

HUNTER is seeking an experienced, strategic, and creative Director of Marketingfor a unique opportunity to help lead marketing efforts for our dynamic firm. This role is being introduced at an inflection point in our agency’s continued evolution from a traditional PR agency to a fully integrated marketing communications firm serving the needs of some of the world’s best known and most beloved companies and brands.

 

The Director of Marketing (DM) will report directly to the agency Chief MarketingOfficer (CMO) as a leader of a small team focused on every aspect of promoting the agency’s various services and unique culture to prospective and current clients and staff. This includes oversight of all earned, owned, and paid media, as well as internal and external communications such as the agency website and social channels, award submissions, PR and thought leadership opportunities, and more.

 

Candidates must have a deep understanding of the marketing industry and competitive agency landscape, outstanding written communication and visual storytelling skills, and a proven track record of success in similar positions. Agency experience is a must.

Responsibilities

  • Directs and implements the agency’s communication initiatives, internally within the firm and externally with key stakeholders
  • Identifies and recommends new approaches to market and publicize HUNTER services and culture with media, prospective clients and staff
  • Collaborates with CMO and members of the agency Executive Leadership Team, Business Leadership Team and Specialty Leadership Team to understand growth plans and opportunities for the agency and develop and execute marketing strategies accordingly
  • Brings extensive industry knowledge, relationships and an outside perspective to the firm, serving as an industry trend spotter to help keep us ahead of the curve
  • Develops and nurtures national and local trade and industry media relationships to further drive attention for the agency
  • Develops strategies, content calendars and content for agency owned channels to engage prospective clients and talent including supporting agency leadership with social media and thought leadership strategies
  • Leads and contributes to the development of award-winning entries on the agency’s client and internal work
  • Identifies and produces thought-leadership events on behalf of the agency and its talented leadership; helps identify and prep agency speakers and panelists for speaking engagements
  • Benchmarks and tracks progress toward continually improving our reputation and evolving our brand
  • Ability to:
  • Prioritize work, meet deadlines and actively communicate progress and deliverables (i.e. time management, follow through)
  • Effectively communicate with company executives – at all levels – both verbally and in written communications
  • Work with a diverse group of personalities
  • Work from the company’s offices in New York City; travel in and around the city (including outer boroughs and suburbs) to attend events and meetings.

Qualifications

  • B.A. in Marketing, Business Administration or related field
  • Seven (7) to ten (10) years of PR and marketing experience at an advertising/digital/social/PR/ agency or consultancy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Compensation

In order to comply with equal pay and salary transparency laws in various locations, the Company believes the target range of base compensation for this role is $100K - 120K. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array offactors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and location.
